Job Summary:
We are looking for a detail-oriented and results-driven Project Manager to lead and manage AI/ML data annotation and data collection projects. The ideal candidate will oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of data-related projects, ensuring timely delivery, quality control, team coordination, and client satisfaction. Experience in managing large-scale data labeling operations and working with cross-functional teams is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage end-to-end delivery of data collection and annotation projects for AI/ML models (text, image, audio, video, etc.)
• Coordinate between clients, internal teams, and third-party vendors to define project scopes, timelines, and deliverables.
• Recruit, onboard, and manage teams of annotators, labelers, and quality reviewers.
• Create and maintain detailed project plans, trackers, and reports.
• Ensure high quality and consistency of annotated data with frequent QA checks.
• Work closely with data scientists and ML engineers to understand project requirements and provide feedback loops.
• Use annotation tools (like Labelbox, Scale AI, CVAT, or custom tools) and ensure efficient workflows.
• Monitor KPIs such as productivity, quality scores, throughput, and SLA adherence.
• Handle risks, troubleshoot operational bottlenecks, and drive process improvements.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Management, or related field (MBA preferred).
• 5+ years of experience in project management; at least 2 years in AI/ML data operations or BPO handling data annotation/collection.
• Strong understanding of data annotation tools, formats, labeling guidelines, and ML data lifecycle.
• Proven ability to manage distributed teams and remote workforce.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Familiarity with tools like Jira, Trello, Asana, Excel/Sheets, and annotation platforms.
• PMP/Agile/Scrum certification is a plus
Preferred Skills:
• Experience in managing speech, NLP, computer vision, or multimodal data projects.
• Understanding of machine learning basics and how annotated data impacts model performance.
• Ability to automate, document SOPs, and scale operations.
